" Eliminating The Time Robbers -
The Entrepreneurs Guide"
NAWBO-NOLA welcomed Patty DeDominic as the featured speaker for our June meeting at Ralph's on the Park. Patty presented "Eliminating the Time Robbers - The Entrepreneur's Guide". It was a fantastic, interactive presentation to help illustrate how less than 1% of our activities produce 50% of our results. She also said, "When you change your focus and how you spend your time, you get great results". How true for all of us!
We all know that our work expands to fill the time we have, but we get what we focus on. Patty shared that our distractions become our politically correct excuses. She also talked about the "Big Rocks" concept. Put then you will
have room for everything else. We learned her 4 D's for disposition of tasks: Do it, Delegate it, Delete it, Dump it.
As a practical exercise, she suggested we map out how we spend our day at least two times each year.  She calls this "Log Your 1440" - so we have a clear
picture of how we spend our 1,440 annual working hours. Remember, no one usually wants to work morehours, but what if we could work less hours and be more effective? Doesn't that sound like a great goal?
Special thanks to our lunch sponsor, Sheila Craft of OfficeLink and FileLink, who also donated the beautiful chair as our door prize which was won by April Hurry.
Stay tuned for more thought-provoking, educational, and motivating programming from us here at NAWBO-NOLA. I hope you will invite friends and guests to let them experience what this chapter has to offer. AND, we love to expand our reach into the community by engaging more women business owners and their unique perspectives. We all learn from each other.
