NAWBO-NOLA's January event was held on Tuesday, January 16th. FINI Boutique on General Diaz in Lakeview graciously hosted our group for the evening event. Peggy and Danni, the owners, made us feel right at home in their beautifully appointed boutique. Our theme was Beauty, Fitness, and Fashion (or BFF for short!). Those who braved the dropping temperatures were treated to a wonderful presentation on how to stay fit in only a few minutes a day with very few items of fitness equipment. Our own Sponsorship Chair, Shea Marshall, gave us a demonstration of a few moves to get our blood flowing and our fat burning! She is the owner of the local Gym Guyz franchise and it is a family affair. Shea, her husband, and one of her beautiful daughters are all personal trainers who come to YOU with their van full of exactly the equipment you need (or work with you on your own equipment) to get fit and firm.
Next, we were treated to a quick makeup lesson by Danni, showing us all how to get out of the house in just a few minutes looking fabulous! We also saw some day to night looks as well as some simple, affordable pairing of separates using some of Fini's gorgeous fashion clothing pieces and accessories. Danni's beautiful mom Jo Jo even joined in as a model. Beautiful women and beautiful fashion and makeup, for sure!
Our final presentation came from Caroline, the owner of the KRAZE salon located directly behind the FINI Boutique. She illustrated quick curls and volume using the flat iron on Myra, one of our board members, as well as a longer look on another beautiful model. We were in awe of how quickly she produced fantastic looks that could go from day to night and made to last for more than one day.
Peggy and Danni provided not only their space, but wine, king cake, and finger food for our members and guests. Those who made purchases that night saved 10% on regularly priced merchandise. We also welcomed our new members, including Peggy Wooten, one of the owners of FINI!
